About 10 years ago the appraisal industry got slammed with HVCC. Suddenly we had a new way of getting an appraiser out to see a property with the rollout of the “AMC”. Back then it didn’t seem like a very good idea, but today I think many would say that it was probably for the better.
AMC’s presented their own problems and issues over the years, but now, things roll pretty smoothly for the most part, but there are a few exceptions. First and foremost is we seem to have a need for more appraisers, secondly, and due to the lack of appraisers we see wildly fluctuation fees for an appraisal and finally there’s the matter of appraisers having questionable conversations with property owners.
